frequently asked questions
what should we wear?

Choosing what to wear can feel overwhelming, but don’t worry—it doesn’t have to be!
The key is to keep things simple, comfortable, and coordinated (but not too matchy). Soft, neutral tones like beige, cream, dusty blue, sage green, and muted pinks photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on your faces and connections.
Choose a complementary palette for everyone in the group. Mix solids and subtle textures. Example: Mom in a flowing cream dress, dad in olive green, kids in beige and rust accents.
Additional Tips:
- Opt for solid colors or soft patterns (like subtle stripes or florals).
- Choose textures like linen, knits, or lace for visual interest.
- Dress comfortably — if you’re not comfortable, it’ll show in the photos!
- Wear well-fitted clothes; avoid oversized or baggy clothing.
- Consider your location and season when picking outfits.
Avoid loud logos, busy patterns, and neon colors, as they can distract from the moment. Textures like knits, linen, or cotton add a nice touch without being too flashy.
And most importantly—choose outfits that feel like you and allow everyone to move and play comfortably.
Final Tips:
- Bring a backup outfit, especially for kids.
- Consider props or accessories that fit your story (blankets, hats, etc.).
- Opt for barefoot, neutral sandals, or simple shoes (especially for beach or indoor sessions).
- Steam or iron clothing before the session to avoid wrinkles.
Don’t hesitate to reach out! I’m happy to help you choose the perfect palette for your shoot, or even review outfit photos ahead of time.
when should i book my session
I recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance, especially for weekends or golden-hour shoots.
Maternity and seasonal sessions tend to fill up quickly, so earlier is always better.
Maternity sessions are recommended at 36-38 weeks
Newborn session are recommended to take place 10-14 days after the little one's birth.
what happens if it rains?

If the weather isn’t cooperating, I’ll contact you to reschedule or move indoors. I always keep an eye on the forecast and will try and be as flexible to ensure you get the best photos possible.
